Irrigation audit & design
Most irrigation problems are hydraulic. Measure them.
We measure what your main can carry, the pressure along the lines and the output of the emitters — then design zones that fit.
Available now · quoted per farmWhy it matters
A main pushed past about 2 m/s loses pressure to friction and suffers water hammer. Two zones open at once starve the far end of both. Emitters clog, and a block that should get 2 L/h per plant gets half that at the end of the line.
None of this is visible without measurement, and all of it shows up as uneven yield.
Method
How we do it
- 1
Identify the main
Material and internal bore — two 1¼-inch pipes can differ by more than 50 % in capacity.
- 2
Measure pressure and flow
At the head and along the lines, with the zone running.
- 3
Catch-can the emitters
Sample emitters across the block for uniformity.
- 4
Design
Zones sized so each fits inside the main’s capacity on its own.
From finding to action
What the results change on the farm
Typical examples of how a finding turns into a decision.
| If the survey finds… | …the decision is |
|---|---|
| Main carries ~4,000 L/h at 1.5 m/s | At 2.5 plants/m² × 2 L/h, keep each zone under ~800 m² |
| Line ends 30 % below the head | Shorter laterals, pressure-compensating emitters or a zone split |
When to order it
- Before automating irrigation
- When line ends underperform
- When expanding the irrigated area
Questions
Irrigation audit & design: FAQ
Do you install the irrigation too?
Yes — we automate existing systems and build new ones. The audit is the first step either way.

Mapping is quoted per farm by size and needs no installed equipment. Book a free visit and we will plan the survey with you.
