Sun for power, patchy network, dust, rain and long distances between blocks. You do not need to understand any of it — we fit it, set it up and look after it. But if you want to know what is inside, it is all here.
Our own boards
Designed in-house — ESP32-C6 wireless nodes and STM32-based controllers — so devices do exactly what a farm needs.
Solar & battery
Field devices run on sunlight with a battery for the night. No trenching, no mains.
Works on poor signal
Wi-Fi or 4G; a device out of range reports through a neighbour; readings are stored until the link returns.
Built to be left alone
Sealed for dust and rain, watchdog self-recovery and remote firmware updates — improvements need no site visit.
Soil & crop
Soil moisture probe
How wet each block really is, at root depth.
A capacitive probe at root depth with its own solar panel and battery. It wakes, reads, reports and sleeps, and carries dry and wet thresholds set for the crop in that block. Calibrated to your soil at installation, and re-calibratable from the dashboard.
Measures
Volumetric soil moisture (%), optional soil temperature
Reporting
Every 30 min 06:00–18:00, every 2 h overnight (remotely adjustable)
On-demand reading
Answered within ~2 min of a dashboard request
Default bands
Dry below 30 %, wet above 70 % — set per crop and soil
Power
Solar panel + Li-ion pack; battery level and health reported
Connectivity
Wi-Fi via the farm gateway
Updates
Remote firmware updates, no site visit
Soil & crop
Soil temperature probe
Whether the ground is warm enough to plant.
A sealed digital temperature probe that can share a node with a moisture probe. Germination and root activity follow soil temperature far more closely than air temperature.
Measures
Soil temperature (°C) at probe depth
Reporting
With its host node’s cycle
Power
From the host node
Soil & crop
Soil nutrient (NPK) probe
Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium levels in the ground.
An in-soil nutrient probe read over an industrial RS-485 (Modbus RTU) bus, all three nutrients in one transaction. If a read fails, the report is skipped rather than sent as zeros, so a loose connector never looks like starved soil.
Measures
N, P, K (mg/kg)
Interface
RS-485 Modbus RTU — robust over long cable runs
Failed reads
Skipped, never reported as 0-0-0
Use
Fixed monitoring, or survey work for soil maps
Soil & crop
Soil acidity (pH) probe
Whether your soil is too acidic or too alkaline for the crop.
A pH node with a local display, so the reading can be checked in the field as well as on the dashboard. It sets its own clock from the internet before reporting, so every reading carries a true date.
Measures
Soil pH
Display
On-device screen for field checks
Time-stamping
Network time sync before first report
Soil & crop
Soil salinity (EC) probe
Salt and fertiliser build-up that quietly limits growth.
Electrical conductivity tracks dissolved salts and fertiliser in the root zone. It shows where inputs have built up, where rain has washed them away, and where borehole water is slowly salting a block.
Measures
Electrical conductivity (dS/m)
Also used
Inline in fertigation lines
Soil & crop
Crop camera
Photographs of the crop, checked for disease and stress.
Fixed cameras above the canopy, one per zone, pointed at the same frame every day. The fixed frame turns a series of photos into a comparable record. Images are analysed on the platform and flagged for your agronomist — the system never sprays on its own.
Catches
Mildew and botrytis patches, thrips and aphid damage, wilting, flowering and fruit set
Mounting
Fixed frame above the canopy
Analysis
On the platform, flagged for review
Water & irrigation
Automatic zone valve
Opens and closes irrigation from your phone, or automatically.
A 24 V DC normally closed solenoid valve with its own controller. It runs scheduled waterings, responds to soil readings and accepts on/off from the dashboard. If it loses contact with the platform for ten minutes it closes itself, and it will not accept a firmware update while open.
Type
24 V DC, normally closed — fails shut
Control
Schedule, soil-moisture rules and phone on/off
Command response
Checks for commands every 10 s
Fail-safe
Auto-closes after 10 min without contact
Power
Mains or solar DC — valves do not sleep
Water & irrigation
Tank level monitor
How much water you have left.
An ultrasonic level sensor on the tank. An empty tank raises an alert rather than silently skipping a watering, and the history shows how fast you really use water.
Measures
Tank level (% and volume)
Alerts
Low level, and unusual drawdown
Livestock & farm
Water trough sensor
Confirms your animals actually have water right now.
A level sensor on the trough that turns “someone checked this morning” into a live reading.
Measures
Trough water level
Alerts
Trough empty or not refilling
Livestock & farm
Animal & equipment tracker
Where the herd is and how it is moving.
A GPS tracker linked to an animal’s record, or fitted to a pump, generator or motorbike.
Reports
Location and movement
Linked to
The animal’s health and activity record
Livestock & farm
Security camera
Eyes on gates, stores and sheds.
Cameras on the points that matter, on the farm network, solar-powered where there is no mains.
Power
Mains or solar
Network
Farm gateway
Weather & climate
On-farm weather mast
Rain, wind, temperature, humidity and sunlight where you farm.
A solar weather mast with its own 4G modem and GPS. It measures the weather on your farm and routes the whole field fleet’s traffic to the internet over one SIM.
Measures
Air temperature & humidity, probe temperature, sunlight, wind speed, rain
Uplink
4G LTE with GPS
Fleet data
~1.7 GB/month for a whole farm on one SIM
Rain board
Powered ~150 ms per reading so it does not corrode
Local dashboard
Status page on the farm network, even offline
Weather & climate
Rain sensor & gauge
Whether it is raining now, and how much fell.
The rain sensor reports wetness as a percentage — light rain from 20 %, heavy from 60 % by default. Where you need millimetres, a tipping-bucket gauge is added.
Heat, humidity and the conditions that drive disease.
Air temperature and humidity in the field, a shed or a greenhouse. In a greenhouse we fit two heights — the difference tells you whether air is actually moving.
Measures
Air temperature (°C), relative humidity (%)
Greenhouse
Wired and continuous — never blind between reports
Weather & climate
Air quality (CO₂) sensor
The air in greenhouses, sheds and stores.
Measures CO₂ so extraction can run on what the crop is breathing, not only on temperature. Carbon monoxide and ammonia are added where a burner or heavy manure is used.
Measures
CO₂ (ppm); CO and NH₃ where relevant
Drives
Greenhouse extraction staging
Connectivity & control
Greenhouse controller
Keeps a greenhouse in range without someone watching it.
A custom controller board in an IP65 cabinet. It sequences zone valves, stages extractor and circulation fans, drives vents and holds its schedule locally, so irrigation and venting continue through a network outage.
Enclosure
IP65 cabinet
Controls
Zone valves, fan banks (staged + variable speed), vents, shade net
Offline
Schedule held on the controller
Priority
Safety → temperature → humidity → CO₂
Connectivity & control
Farm gateway
Connects every device on the farm to your phone.
The farm’s own internet link. It raises a Wi-Fi network for field devices and routes it over 4G, so sensors do not each need a SIM. When the mobile link drops, devices store readings and send them when it returns.
Uplink
4G LTE
Local network
Wi-Fi for field nodes, with routing to the internet
Recovery
Re-establishes routing automatically when the cellular link returns
Not sure what your farm needs?
That is what the site visit is for. We walk the farm, then propose exactly what goes where, how many, and what it costs — bought outright, leased or on PAYGo.
