Know what your farm is doing today — not at the end of the season

SmartFarmer maps your soil, puts solar-powered sensors in your fields, greenhouses, sheds and water, and turns what they see into clear answers on your phone — then feeds, sprays and irrigates for you.

Smart farming for every way you grow

The right equipment for a sealed greenhouse is wrong for an open maize field. Greenhouses, open fields, net houses and hydroponics each get their own technology stack.

Everything a farm needs to stop guessing

Monitor the soil, water, weather and animals. Automate irrigation, feeding and climate. Build the water and power where they are missing. Start with one and add more as you see the value.

Built for Kenyan farms

Made for sun, dust, rain and patchy signal

Field devices run on sunlight with a battery for the night. A single 4G link serves the whole farm. Devices are sealed for dust and rain, recover themselves after a network drop, and take updates remotely — so improvements never need a site visit.

  • No trenching and no cables across the farm
  • Readings stored and sent when the link returns
  • A silent sensor is shown as silent — never a comfortable fake number

How we work with you

One team from the first walk to long after installation.

  1. 01

    We visit

We walk the farm with you and understand what you grow or keep, and what is going wrong.

  2. 02

    We propose

A specific plan — what goes where, how many, what it costs — with buy, lease or PAYGo options.

  3. 03

    We install

We fit and calibrate everything, and confirm each device is reporting before we leave.

  4. 04

    We train you

We sit with your team until reading the dashboard is second nature.

  5. 05

    We stay

We monitor the equipment remotely and come out when something needs a hand.

Where it gets clever

Collecting readings is the easy part. The platform studies your soil, water, contamination tests and weather and explains its advice in your own numbers — advice you can argue with, not a black box.

01

Crop suggestions

Which crops suit your soil, water, contamination tests and weather — with the reasoning in your own numbers.

02

Between-season crops

Short crops that go in and come off before the main season needs the land back.

03

Crops worth more

Higher-value crops your ground can genuinely support, each with a predicted yield.

04

Yield prediction

The yield you are on course for, and what is putting it at risk — while there is time to act.

05

Water worked out

What each crop needs from moisture at root depth and the weather — and exactly that much sent.

06

Your farm, benchmarked

Which blocks consistently perform and which quietly cost you money every season.

What farmers ask us first

More in the full FAQ.

What does the first visit cost?

Nothing. The first conversation is a walk around your farm to understand what you grow or keep and what is going wrong. No cost, no commitment.

Where in Kenya do you work?

We are based in Nairobi (Industrial Area) and work with farms across Kenya. Remote monitoring means support does not depend on distance; site visits are scheduled as needed.

Do I have to install everything at once?

No. Start with one block, one greenhouse or one shed and add more once you have seen it work. Most farms start with one area and grow from there.

How much does it cost?

Equipment and installation are quoted per farm, because no two farms need the same thing. The software is a subscription (Starter, Professional or Enterprise).

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Systems can be bought outright, leased for a fixed monthly payment, or paid for by PAYGo — a small deposit and flexible M-Pesa instalments until the system is yours.

What is the Farm Assistant?

An AI assistant on this site that answers farming questions — crops, soil, water, pests, livestock, greenhouses and more. It only discusses farming and related topics. Inside the SmartFarmer dashboard, the assistant can also read your own farm’s data.
